2014 "Everybody Needs a Roof" Children's Art Contest

NRCA's "Everybody Needs a Roof" Children's Art Contest is part of National Roofing Week and promotes awareness of the importance of having a roof to grade school-age children, showing them the value of professional roofing contractors in their communities.

The contest was open to children in grades 1-8 who are relatives of NRCA contractor members and their employees. In preparation for a child's participation, NRCA encourages roofing professionals to talk to children about what they do as roofing contractors and why their jobs are important. This should not only give children ideas about what to draw, but also educate them about the value of roofing professionals.

Judging

Finalists from each group were selected based on the artwork that most effectively illustrates the importance of a roof. Visitors to NRCA's website voted for their favorite entry in each group.

Winners were chosen from the following age groups:

Group 1: Grades 1-3
Group 2: Grades 4-6
Group 3: Grades 7-8

Contest Winners:

The winner from each group will have his or her artwork featured on all 2014 National Roofing Week material and additional promotional material to be displayed at industry events throughout the year, including the 2015 International Roofing Expo® and NRCA's 128th Annual Convention in New Orleans.

Each winner received a $100 gift card from one of several national retailers.
