On March 7, 2018, roofing professionals from all segments of the industry and throughout the U.S. will meet with their
members of Congress (or their staffs) to discuss important issues that are affecting their businesses and the roofing
industry. It is extremely important we all speak with one voice and deliver consistent messages about the issues.
As we get closer to Roofing Day in D.C. 2018, we will be posting updated information about the issues to ensure you are
informed and ready for your visits on Capitol Hill.
Because of the dynamic nature of legislation in Washington, D.C., NRCA's Washington, D.C., staff and leadership will be
analyzing developments and making decisions about the final roofing industry issues we will want roofing professionals
to address as they meet with members of Congress. We want to make sure we have the most up-to-date information so
Roofing Day in D.C. 2018 will be as effective and productive as possible.
Whether this is your first visit to our nation's Capital or your 15th, NRCA and Prime Advocacy will be with you every
step of the way.
When you arrive at Roofing Day in D.C. Tuesday, March 6, and check in, we will provide you with issue briefings and a
list of your pre-arranged meetings with members of Congress or their staffs (prepared by Prime Advocacy). The morning
of March 7, we will prepare you for your visits to Capitol Hill with speakers and training that will be geared toward
making your visits successful.
Potential issues of importance that could be addressed are:
Regulatory Issues (OSHA, etc.)
The specific issues that will be selected for discussion with elected representatives will be issues on which the
entire industry agrees. No issues that divide the industry along union/open shop or other areas will be considered.
