An NRCA ProCertification Authorized Testing Center (ATC) is a physical location where candidates who are pursuing NRCA
certifications can participate in practical, hands-on performance tests for certain system installations under
standardized test conditions (STCs). All performance tests at local ATCs are scheduled on behalf of a certification
candidate by an NRCA Qualified Assessor. Only NRCA Qualified Assessors can proctor practical, hands-on performance
tests for certification candidates at ATCs.
Each ATC offers unique, system-specific testing services. For example, an ATC only may offer testing services for one
or two types of roof systems (e.g., thermoplastic membrane, asphalt shingle, polymer-modified bitumen, EPDM membrane,
liquid-applied membrane, metal panel) or many systems. The testing mockups, materials, tools and equipment vary
significantly by system. Each ATC will be unique in what they can or cannot offer.
Example of NRCA ProCertification ATC locations include:
Roofing contractor shops
Local building material distributors' sites
Local manufacturers' training centers
Vocational training centers
Local union training facilities
NRCA will publish an NRCA ProCertification Participating ATC Manual that outlines details of the ATC
relationship with NRCA, including general and specific terms and conditions, policies and procedures. It is important
to note that requirements for NRCA ProCertification Recognized Training Centers (RTCs) are different from those of
NRCA will publish an online directory of ProCertification ATCs searchable by ZIP code and filtered by system
