New OSHA pamphlet addresses worker safety regarding snow removal

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has made available a new resource to help employers and workers involved with snow removal operations take precautions and focus on safety, according to www.osha.gov.

The OSHA pamphlet details steps employers should take before beginning work, such as checking for worksite hazards; limiting roof access for snow removal; training workers regarding the signs of cold stress; and ensuring powered equipment is used according to the manufacturers' instructions. It also includes information about significant hazards and workers' rights.
