Register for NRCA University's February webinars

There still is time to register for NRCA University's remaining February webinars. The webinar topics and presenters have been selected to offer you a unique experience tailored specifically to roofing contractors.

Following are details about the webinars:

Feb. 16: OSHA's Final Rule for General Industry Fall Protection: Important Changes to Know (Noon-1 p.m. CST)

Late in 2016, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued a final rule updating its fall-protection requirements, which took effect Jan. 17. Provisions have been made in the rule for the use of guardrails, personal fall-arrest systems and travel-restraint systems, as well as allowing for worker fall protection using a system similar to the warning-line system used for low-slope roofing work under OSHA's construction rules. During this one-hour webinar, NRCA Director of Enterprise Risk Management Harry Dietz discusses what you must know about the updated fall-protection rule, which will be of interest to roofing contractors because it relates to OSHA's narrow definition of "maintenance" work and significantly will affect building owners and managers for whom contractors perform services.

Feb. 23: Handle with Care: The Do's and Don'ts of Employee Hiring and Firing (1-2 p.m. CST)

As the owner of your business and manager of your team, you're responsible for hiring the people who will help take your business to the next level and firing the people who are holding you and your business back. During this one-hour webinar, Philip Siegel, National Roofing Legal Resource Center legal counsel, will share valuable recommendations that will give you the confidence you need—from a legal perspective—when it comes time to decide who you ultimately want on your team.

The webinars are free for members and $55 for nonmembers. For more information or to register, click here.
