During the past several years, there has been considerable discussion regarding the use of polystyrene insulation in low-slope roof systems without an additional thermal barrier layer of insulation. This configuratioan is referred to as direct-to-deck roof assembly. To date, NRCA is not aware of a specfic direct-to-deck roof assembly that has been tested and found to comply with AC 142.
