Charity: Habitat for Humanity
In 2017, Mountain Roofing committed to donating labor and materials to provide roof systems on five Habitat for Humanity homes for the year and for many years to come. The donation provided stable roof systems for Habitat’s homeowner families, many of whom have been living in substandard housing conditions.
Double D Roofing & Sheet Metal works with Shadowfax, an organization that provides services to mentally, emotionally and physically challenged individuals and finds them meaningful work. Double D Roofing & Sheet Metal ships Firestone Building Products’ screws and metal insulation plates to Shadowfax, and workers pre-assemble the screws and plates to be installed on roof systems. Some Shadowfax workers enjoy the task so much, they feel as though they are employees of Double D Roofing & Sheet Metal and Firestone Building Products, taking great pride in their work.
Charity: Dallas Women’s Forum
Texas Roof Management aided in the restoration process of a historic mansion that is now the home to the Dallas Women’s Forum, the first woman’s departmental group in the state of Texas, by replacing the structure’s $178,000 roof system.
Charity: Cystic Fibrosis Foundation – Sooner OKC Chapter
All American Roofing is actively involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s CF Young Professionals organization that raises money and awareness for the disease.
Charity: Scatter Joy Acres Inc.
McKinnis donated material for a new metal roof system to Scatter Joy Acres, a 26-acre ranch in Omaha, Neb., after a wind storm took down a barn in the ranch’s camel pen area. Work on the roof system was completed December 2017 just in time for winter weather.
Charity: St. Andrews Human Concerns
St. Andrews Human Concerns works with the poor and disadvantaged in Northern New Jersey, distributing clothes, food, furniture and toys at Christmas time to the Appalachian region of West Virginia and Kentucky. Tecta America has acquired two trucks to help St. Andrews with its relief efforts, and the company plays a large role in the Appalachian Toy Drive.
Charity: ALS Association Florida Chapter
Venture Construction Group of Florida sponsored several “Walk to Defeat ALS” events throughout Florida. The events raised funding for ALS research.
Charity: The Home for Little Wanderers
For nearly as long as the company has been in business, O'LYN Roofing has been contributing to The Home for Little Wanderers, whose mission is to ensure the healthy behavioral, emotional, social and educational development and physical well-being of at-risk children and families. Their biggest event is the annual Big Wishes Gift Drive, when O'LYN Roofing adopts a needy family and all staff members contribute one or more items from the family’s wish list.
Charity: Gemma’s Angels Foundation
Venture Construction Group of Florida hosted a fundraiser to increase awareness of domestic violence and January’s Stalking Awareness Month. The event raised funds for the Gemma’s Angels Foundation, an organization that raises awareness of domestic violence.
Charity: Business Advocates for Veterans
For three years, Tri-County Roofing and Sheet Metal has supported Business Advocates for Veterans, an organization that promotes the hiring of veterans, assists them in obtaining employment and supporting community projects to benefit veterans. Tri-City Roofing and Sheet Metal’s efforts include repairing a roof system for a disabled veteran; donating a crane, light and American flag for a Veteran Flag Memorial; and sponsoring several needy families for the Adopt a Family at Christmas program.
Charity: Hanna’s House Ministry and Divine Home Community Health
For four years, Chase Construction NW has been providing aid to Hanna House Ministry and Divine Home Community Health, a nonprofit organization in Uganda, Africa, that runs maternal health services for refugee women and their children. This organization helps refugee mothers, from the beginning of their pregnancies to delivery and post-natal care. This year, the company will participate in the construction of a maternity block and install a water tank.
Charity: Luke’s Wings
Venture Construction Group of Florida was the Salute Sponsor at the 2017 Luke’s Wings Heroes Gala, which hosts major fundraisers throughout the year to raise money and awareness and show appreciation to supporters and sponsors of wounded warriors. Luke’s Wings provides families with the means to visit during a service member’s hospitalization and rehabilitation.
Charity: Blair YMCA
McKinnis donated $10,000 to the Blair YMCA which enabled the organization to reach out to the community and surrounding areas to provide support for troubled youth. The Blair YMCA provides those who are at-risk with a safe place to get healthier and to encourage positive improvements.
Charity: Congregational B’Nai Israel – Feed the Hungry Event
Venture Construction Group of Florida staff, crew and families volunteered at the 34th annual Congregational B’Nai Israel Feed the Hungry Event and was the Grand Benefactor Sponsor. The event provides a Thanksgiving meal to thousands of community members in need.
Charity: JRC Charitable Foundation
Venture Construction Group of Florida was the Presenting Sponsor at the seventh annual JRC Charitable Foundation golf outing benefiting Molly’s House and Quantum House, which provides a warm, caring environment for patients and families in medical crises.
Charity: Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church
Front Range Roofing Systems donated materials and labor to replace the roof system of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. The cost for the new roof system was valued at $35,000.
Charity: Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center
Kalkreuth Roofing and Sheet Metal hosted its third Annual Kalkreuth Vendor Invitational, raising $22,000 to benefit the Easter Seals Rehabilitation Center.
Charity: Manna Worldwide
East Coast Roofing Systems, Siding and Windows has worked in partnership with Manna Worldwide since 2010. Manna Worldwide’s goals are to provide nutrition, education, medical clinics and clean water projects to children worldwide. East Coast Roofing acts as the sole financial support for a nutrition center in Guatemala that nourishes about 75 children per day.
Charity: Special Kneads and Treats
Tecta America acquired roofing material and donated labor to replace the roof system of Special Kneads and Treats, a nonprofit specialty goods company that provides special needs adults a place of employment to learn a skill and develop a sense of accountability and pride in their work.
Charity: ARC of Martin County
Venture Construction Group of Florida sponsored an annual fishing tournament benefiting the ARC of Martin County, whose mission is to empower children and adults with developmental disabilities to achieve their fullest potential through residential, vocational, educational, behavioral and other healthcare services.
Charity: A Roof Over Your Head
Showalter Roofing Services created A Roof Over Your Head, a 501(c)(3) organization that helps homeowners in need with household repairs, such as exterior decking, porches, stairs, railing repairs and cleaning, fence and gate repairs and more. In 2017, Showalter Roofing provided A Roof Over Your Head with material, labor and equipment necessary to repair and/or install 13 roof systems and 48 household projects.
Charity: Kahauiki Villages Homes for Homeless Families in Hawaii
To combat Hawaii’s growing homeless situation, Action Roofing Hawaii donated materials and labor to install new standing-seam metal roof systems for Kahauiki Villages, a project that helps homeless families settle into long-term, affordable housing.
