NRCA members received industry news during the year through e-newsletters, NRCA's
website, Professional Roofing magazine, Professional Roofing's website and media
promotions, among other resources.
Regarding its online innovations, NRCA E-News and NRCA SmartBrief continue to offer
more in-depth information about NRCA and its members and increased their subscription
bases to 10,800 subscribers and 8,181 subscribers, respectively. NRCA Insider continued
to offer its online features, including quarterly reports from NRCA's president
and videos such as "A word from Bill" and "NRCA Personalities." The For Members
Only newsletter continued to offer important member news, and the 10@10 newsletter
provided information about current legislative issues.
Additionally, NRCA members and nonmembers now can follow NRCA on Facebook and Twitter
and watch NRCA videos on YouTube, offering more ways to receive information and
network within the industry.
NRCA's website includes more than 30,000 pages of information and has 14,000 registered
users. Professional Roofing's website offers 3,000 pages of information and has
2,900 registered users.
With the release of The NRCA Roofing Manual: Membrane Roof Systems2011, The NRCA
Roofing Manual four-volume series now has been updated. During the past year, The
NRCA Roofing Manual set has sold more than 400 copies. In addition, since the release
of the electronic versions of The NRCA Roofing Manual, 50 copies of the four volumes
have been sold.
Other successful bookstore additions this year included Business Fundamentals for
Roofing Contractors, Insurance Guide for Professional Roofing Contractors, Third
Edition and Employment Law: A Legal Guide for Roofing Contractors, Second Edition.
The marketing department also continued to sell popular publications, including
350 hard copies of The NRCA Waterproofing Manual and more than 3,000 English and
Spanish versions of the NRCA Pocket Guide to Safety.
As previously mentioned, the NRCA website now offers the option to purchase almost
all products as electronic files. Electronic file products can be viewed at any
time on NRCA's website, have an interactive table of contents and can be searched
by keyword. NRCA members have found value in this format and are pleased with this
