CAPEWAY ROOFING SYSTEMS INC. WINS GOLD CIRCLE AWARD
Las VegasDuring the National Roofing Contractors Association's (NRCA's) 119th Annual Convention held Feb. 13-16, Capeway Roofing Systems Inc., Westport, Mass., won NRCA's Gold Circle Award for safety solutions. The company also received an honorable mention for innovative solutions: reroofing.
Capeway Roofing Systems earned the award and honorable mention for replacing the roof system on Connecticut College in New London, Conn. The project consisted of 22,500 square feet (2090 m²) of roof demolition and replacement. Because of the roof system's proximity to the ground and visibility of the roof from the campus and approaching highway, the seam layouts and placement of the membrane system needed to be uniform and aesthetically pleasing. A Sarnafil G410 fleece-back material membrane was chosen to minimize the telegraphing of insulation seams through the membrane. New snow guards, edge metal, gutters and downspouts also were installed with a majority of the metal fabrication performed by Capeway Roofing Systems. The custom color and extended fabrication lead time for the membrane, projected material waste and complex geometrical patterns on the roof required precise estimating, scheduling and installation skills. Capeway Roofing Systems met all project goals, including schedule, functionality and appearance.
The Gold Circle Awards program annually honors NRCA members and affiliate organizations from around the world. Recipients are recognized by their peers for significant contributions to the roofing industry in one of five categories: workmanship, innovation, service to the community, service to the industry and safety.
