Alliance sweepstakes raises funds for scholarship
During NRCA's 122nd Annual Convention, The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress held its Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Sweepstakes. The sweepstakes netted more than $16,000 for the Alliance's Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Fund.
The sweepstakes winner was announced during NRCA's cocktail and awards reception, which took place Feb. 4. LeAnne Sanders, president of Thermo Manufacturing, Lindale, Texas, won the sweepstakes' grand prizea 2009 BMW 128i convertible.
The Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to employees, immediate family members of employees and immediate family members of NRCA members. Employees and their families who plan to pursue postsecondary education in college and vocational programs are eligible for the merit-based scholarships. Scholarship recipients receive funding for up to four years of full-time study at any accredited postsecondary institution.
Scholarship details and applications for the 2010-11 school year will be available at www.roofingindustryalliance.net in late summer/early fall.
