GAF will open second of four roof insulation plants
GAF, Wayne, N.J., has announced plans to open its next new manufacturing facility to produce polyisocyanurate; the facility will be located in Gainesville, Texas. GAF's first polyisocyanurate manufacturing facility in Statesboro, Ga., began shipping material in August.
The facility will be integrated with the company's existing TPO manufacturing facilities and also will produce residential sheathing. Construction of the 200,000-square-foot facility is expected to begin during the third quarter of 2012, and the facility will begin operating during the third quarter of 2013. The facility is expected to employ about 20 people in addition to the 35 people already employed at the company’s Gainesville manufacturing site.
"The opening of our second polyisocyanurate facility demonstrates GAF's unwavering commitment to create efficient and cost-effective solutions for our customers," says Bob Tafaro, GAF's president and chief executive officer. "The products manufactured at this facility will support property owners' efforts to reduce energy costs through thermal efficiency."
