MVP Awards deadline is extended
The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress, a separate but related educational and research organization of NRCA, has extended the deadline for entries for its Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards Program to Nov. 14.
The program is designed to honor a maximum of 10 outstanding roofing workers. The awards recognize excellence in the roofing industry and allow recipients to serve as role models for other roofing workers, as well as demonstrate higher work-related and personal goals to which others may aspire. Professional Roofing and OMG Roofing Products, Agawam, Mass., are once again co-sponsoring a Best of the Best award, which will include a special prize and feature article about the winning worker in Professional Roofing Workers.
Nominees must hold positions no higher than superintendent and can be nominated in the following categories: community service and volunteerism; attracting new roofing workers and helping retain existing ones; contributions to a team effort; other noteworthy contributions and activities; and outstanding on-the-job performance.
Award recipients will receive two complimentary airfare tickets and hotel accommodations for two nights during NRCA's 122nd Annual Convention in Las Vegas Feb. 1-5, 2009. Each winner also will receive one complimentary conference registration and exhibit hall pass, two tickets to the NRCA Cocktail and Awards Reception Feb. 4, 2009, and a $100 American Express gift certificate. Winners will be formally honored and presented with awards during the cocktail and awards reception.
