NRCA member is Small Business of the Year
On April 24, NRCA member Kulp's of Stratford LLC, Stratford, Wis., was named a 2012 Small Business of the Year by the Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce. The awards have been given annually since 1981 and were presented during the chamber's Small Business Week.
Kulp's of Stratford, a roofing, sheet metal and insulation contractor, received the award in the Manufacturing/Commercial Services category. The company has been serving the roofing needs of Wisconsin homeowners, businesses, and local government and religious institutions since 1985.
The Small Business of the Year award recognizes business growth, community involvement and innovative efforts in the Wausau region. It is an opportunity to review the best business practices of successful entrepreneurs and set a benchmark of excellence for the future.
"We are honored to be part of the greater Wausau community and chosen as Small Business of the Year by the Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce," says Bob Kulp, founder and co-owner of Kulp's of Stratford. "The chamber recognized our innovative efforts, including embracing technologies such as stone-coated metal and solar roofing long before other competitors in our market. NRCA membership has given us the edge in other advancements in our industry. As contractors, we have the choice to lead, follow or get out of the way; we chose to lead and are proud the community recognized our efforts."
