Michal Bartko holds a Master of Engineering degree in architecture and building construction from Slovak University of Technology and Doctor of Engineering degree in environmental science and technology from Tokyo Institute of Technology. In 2006, he became a member of Kato laboratory research group at the University of Tokyo as postdoctoral researcher. Bartko joined NRCA in 2008 and is responsible for identifying, managing and coordinating research programs for NRCA and the Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing (CEIR).
