Job shadowing

What? An activity to be completed at a participant's company—monitored and approved by the company sponsor; participants will learn responsibilities of various staff members, and shadow them doing aspects of their jobs.

Format? A packet with instructions and guidelines will be provided.

How much time will it take? Approximately 12 hours. For each person being shadowed, the responsibilities are to learn what he or she does and shadow each person doing parts of his or her job.

Why is this required? The purpose of this assignment is for a participant to gain an understanding of steps that happen before, during and after a crew installs a roof system and to appreciate the complexity of operations at the company. No two roofing companies operate in the same way, and by shadowing various staff members, participants will be able to appreciate the efforts of a company's team in its entirety.

How is credit awarded? Complete the project packet and email, mail or fax it to NRCA
