In an effort to become more environmentally friendly and consistently provide its members with up-to-date information, NRCA continues to evolve with its print and online resources. Members received industry news through e-newsletters, NRCA's Web site, Professional Roofing magazine and media promotions, among other resources.

Regarding its online innovations, NRCA launched NRCA SmartBrief, which is an e-newsletter that offers members current industry-related news stories, as well as NRCA news, four days each week. In addition, the SpecRight News e-newsletter became e-Briefings from the Center, an e-newsletter from NRCA's new Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing that keeps members apprised of energy and environmental issues in the roofing industry. In July, NRCA Insider became an online publication, offering new features; it will no longer be offered in print. The For Members Only newsletter will be offered in print and electronically until January 2009, when it will become strictly electronic.

NRCA's Web site had 30,000 pages of information and averaged 220,000 user sessions per month—user sessions averaged about 12 minutes. Forty percent of visitors to NRCA's Web site were consumers. Professional Roofing's Web site averaged 64,000 users per month.

In addition, Professional Roofing magazine boasted a circulation of about 25,000. The magazine launched its new design in June, and the Professional Roofing Web site also was redesigned. Professional Roofing launched Professional Roofing Workers, a magazine for roofing workers that addresses industry issues that affect them. The new publication featured the winners of the Best of the Best Award, which is given to the most outstanding worker (two workers, this year) chosen from the Alliance's Most Valuable Player Award winners.

Additionally, NRCA E-News continues to offer more in-depth info about NRCA and its members.

NRCA released more than 10 new titles this year. One of the most successful additions to the bookstore was The NRCA Green Roof Systems Manual—2007 Edition, which sold 700 copies in its first year. The Marketing Department also sold 1,059 hard copies of The NRCA Roofing and Waterproofing Manual, Fifth Edition, 478 copies of The NRCA Guide to Roof Coatings and 6,623 English and Spanish versions of the NRCA Pocket Guide to Safety.
