During the year, NRCA conducts study tours for members to attend roofing industry
exhibitions and technical conferences sponsored by other organizations throughout
the world. Participants exchange technical and product information and gain insight
into the economic conditions, political climate and roofing market trends of other
countries.
NRCA attended some of the world's largest international trade shows and conferences
during the past year, including Expo Cihac 2007 in Mexico City Oct. 16-20, 2007;
China Roofing & Waterproofing 2007 in Beijing Sept. 24-27, 2007; Dach + Holz in
Stuttgart, Germany, March 5-8, 2008; and Roof India in Chennai April 25-27, 2008.
Expo Cihac 2007 had 63,657 attendees from 24 various countries and 689 exhibitors
in a 376,737-square-foot exhibition area.
The exhibition area and number of booths for China Roofing & Waterproofing 2007
increased by about 22 percent increase compared with the previous year. The exhibition
had about 12,000 visitors and 146 exhibitors.
Dach & Holz 2008 was a big success. This show attracted more than 48,000 attendees
and had 554 exhibitors from 23 countries covering a massive 753,474 square feet
of exhibition area. Dach + Holz has become a biennial show and is set for Cologne,
Germany, Feb. 24-27, 2010.
Roof India 2008 had a 20 percent increase in exhibitors, totaling 104 this year,
who came from a variety of countries, including Australia, Bahrain, China, Egypt,
France, Germany, India, Italy, Korea, Lebanon, Malaysia, Singapore, South Africa,
Sri Lanka, Thailand, Ukraine and the U.S.
