Entry information
Eligibility
Any field roofing worker up to and including superintendent employed by an NRCA
member or nonmember contractor is eligible to be nominated.
The number of nominations
per contracting firm must not exceed three per company branch.
Self-nominations are not permitted; rather, each participating contractor or his
or her designee is responsible for preparing and submitting the entry form(s) and
including supporting informationat least a minimum of 100 words. Input from
employees is strongly encouraged.
Criteria by which nominees will be evaluated
Nominees will be evaluated based on significant contributions in the following categories.

Nominees can be nominated for more than one category; each category will
be judged separately.)
- Outstanding on-the-job performance: A nominee must demonstrate a strong work
ethic and outstanding workmanship in a roofing application and contribute creative
ideas for problem solving.
- Safety performance: A nominee must have an outstanding safety record and/or
contribute to the improved safety of the work crew.
- Contributions to a team effort: A nominee should demonstrate support for
co-workers and helping others learn. He or she should demonstrate leadership, initiative
and resourcefulness in attracting new roofing workers and helping retain existing
ones.
- Community service and volunteerism: A nominee should be actively committed
to participating in programs that have positive effects on a segment of his or her
community and/or the general public.
- Other noteworthy contributions and activities: These activities should reflect
positively on an individual personally and/or as an employee in the roofing industry.
(Examples: coaching, serving in the armed forces, etc.)

Entries should be submitted as follows:
- Complete the official entry form with the name and job title of the nominated
employee. Be sure to check the award category(ies) in which the candidate is being
entered, and provide company name, address and other contact information as requested.
- For each award category in which the nominee is being entered, provide a detailed
description (minimum of 100 words) of the specific attributes, activities and
other factors that make the individual noteworthy or unique. Please provide adequate
detail so judges have a basis of comparison with other entries. Note: Entries submitted
without supporting information will not be consideredjudges need detailed
information to properly evaluate the entries. Handwritten entries are discouraged.

- Include applicable information and material that may help strengthen the nominee's
credentials as a potential award winner, such as customer and supervisor comments.
Remember, the only information the judges will have on which to base their decisions
is the information presented with the entry.
- Package entries carefully and be sure to mail them with adequate postage.
The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress will not be responsible for loss of or

Judges
Judges are recognized professionals within the roofing industry and include a representative
mix of contractors, manufacturers and other industry suppliers.
The only information
the judges will have available on which to base their decisions is the information
submitted with each entry.
How the judging works:
- Entries are reviewed at Alliance headquarters to confirm eligibility.
- Each eligible entry is individually evaluated by the judges.
- The highest-ranking entries in each category will be re-evaluated to determine the
winner.
- Judges' decisions are final, and evaluations of specific entries will remain confidential.
