D.C. TAYLOR CO. WINS NRCA GOLD CIRCLE AWARD
Orlando, Fla.During the National Roofing Contractors Association's (NRCA's)
118th Annual Convention held Feb. 14-18, D.C. Taylor Co., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, won
NRCA's Gold Circle Award for Workmanship: Low-slope.
D.C. Taylor earned the award for installing a Kemperol roof system on the Cargill
Oilseed Facility, a plant that has almost 200 pipes, steel beams and other equipment
penetrating the surface of its roof. The company removed a roof system that had
a 30-year history of leaks. Precise workflow management was key when installing
the new roof system because of a tight 20-minute working window for the resin-based
roofing material. Because obstructions were on nearly every square of the roof,
roofing workers often were forced to work under low steel beams. With extra care,
D.C. Taylor was able to overcome tight working conditions and work without disturbing
the plant's production schedule.
The Gold Circle Awards program annually honors NRCA members and affiliate organizations
from around the world. Recipients are recognized by their peers for significant
contributions to the roofing industry in one of four categories: workmanship, innovation,
service to the community and service to the industry.
