GAF MATERIALS CORP. WINS CHARLIE RAYMOND AWARD Las Vegas—During the National Roofing Contractors Association's (NRCA's) 119th Annual Convention Feb. 13-16, GAF Materials Corp., Wayne, N.J., received the Charlie Raymond Award, the most prestigious membership recruitment award NRCA bestows. Each year, the Charlie Raymond Award honors the NRCA member who has recruited the most new members during the calendar year. GAF Materials Corp. earned the award for recruiting nine new members in 2005. The Charlie Raymond Award is named for former NRCA president and J.A. Piper Award winner Charlie Raymond, who first became chairman of NRCA's Membership Committee when the association had only 328 members and is responsible for recruiting many more. Raymond recruited the 1,000th member for NRCA in 1973. ###
