Interstate Roofing & Waterproofing Inc. wins Gold Circle Award

INTERSTATE ROOFING & WATERPROOFING INC. WINS GOLD CIRCLE AWARD Las Vegas—During the National Roofing Contractors Association's (NRCA's) 119th Annual Convention held Feb. 13-16, Interstate Roofing & Waterproofing Inc., Onalaska, Wis., won NRCA's Gold Circle Award for outstanding workmanship: steep-slope, as well as NRCA's Gold Circle Award for safety solutions. Interstate Roofing & Waterproofing earned the award for restoring the roof system on St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon, Iowa. The company originally was the fourth-lowest bidder for the project. However, after presenting its restoration project portfolio to the parish's building committee, the company unanimously was awarded the contract. The project presented many challenges, which Interstate Roofing & Waterproofing was able to overcome. When the original copper architectural sheet metal, to be used as patterns during the restoration process, was stolen from the job site before the patterns were made, company craftsmen used the project photography detail for the dimensions, which resulted in an exact fit. Another challenge occurred when, after the crew followed manufacturer instructions, the radius-tapered tower tiles would not fit. The tile manufacturer's representative visited the job site and adjusted the tile exposure to solve the problem. After meeting these and other challenges, the project was completed perfectly. The Gold Circle Awards program annually honors NRCA members and affiliate organizations from around the world. Recipients are recognized by their peers for significant contributions to the roofing industry in one of five categories: workmanship, innovation, service to the community, service to the industry and safety.
