THE ROOFING INDUSTRY ALLIANCE FOR PROGRESS ANNOUNCES 2008 MVP AWARD WINNERS


Las Vegas—The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress announced the winners of its eighth annual Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards during the National Roofing Contractors Association's 121st Annual Convention. Following are the 2008 winners:

Jose Bones, foreman for Centimark Corp., Houston
Rodney Griffith, foreman for Centimark Corp., Pelham, Ala.
Albert Hall, superintendent for Chamerlin Roofing & Waterproofing, Houston
Gregg Hearns, assistant superintendent for Pioneer Roofing Co., Phoenix
Scott Kroeck, mainline roofer and heavy equipment operator for Gooding, Simpson & Mackes Inc., Ephrata, Pa.
Perry Phillips, superintendent for DRI Commercial, Irvine, Calif.
Paul Showalter, commercial job superintendent for Showalter Roofing Service, Inc., Naperville, Ill.
Teri Stallion, field superintendent for Innovative Roofing Group, Atlanta

Additionally, following are the 2008 MVP Award finalists:

Raymundo Jimenez, superintendent/project manager for D.C. Taylor Co., Concord, Calif.

The MVP Awards program recognizes and honors outstanding roofing workers from various U.S. regions. Winners are chosen based on their significant contributions to one or more of the following areas: outstanding on-the-job performance; attracting new roofing workers and helping retain existing ones; contributions to a team effort; community service and volunteerism; and other noteworthy contributions and activities.

The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress brings together leading roofing contractors, manufacturers and suppliers committed to securing the future strength and excellence of the roofing industry. The organization's objectives are to conduct research and educational projects that support high-quality programs for roofing contractors; ensure timely and forward-thinking industry responses to major economic and technological issues; and enhance the long-term viability and attractiveness of the industry to roofing workers.
