THE ROOFING INDUSTRY ALLIANCE FOR PROGRESS ANNOUNCES 2009 MVP AWARD WINNERS


Las Vegas—The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress announced the winners of its ninth annual Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards during the National Roofing Contractors Association's 122nd Annual Convention, which took place Feb.1-5 in Las Vegas. Following are the 2009 winners:
    Jesus Andres, foreman for Madsen Roof Co., Sacramento, Calif.
    Isael Casas, lead foreman for General Works LLC, Sanford, Fla., a Tecta America company
    Chad Chambers, foreman for The Durable Slate Co., Columbus, Ohio
    Roua Elliott, foreman for Stiles Roofing Inc., Lebanon, Mo.
    Raymundo Jimenez, project manager for D.C. Taylor Co., Concord, Calif.
    Eugena Madeley, yard/receiving/truck driver for Gooding, Simpson & Mackes Inc., Ephrata, Pa.
    Jerroul McMellon, superintendent for Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing,
    Robert Morneau, foreman for CentiMark Corp., Chelmsford, Mass.
    Dan Williams, sheet metal and slate supervisor for J.S. Wagner Co. Inc., Hyattsville, Md.
    Millard Wright, field supervisor for CentiMark, Lakeland, Fla.

The MVP Awards program recognizes and honors outstanding roofing workers from various U.S. regions. Winners are chosen based on their significant contributions to one or more of the following areas: outstanding on-the-job performance; attracting new roofing workers and helping retain existing ones; contributions to a team effort; community service and volunteerism; and other noteworthy contributions and activities.

The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress brings together leading roofing contractors, manufacturers and suppliers committed to securing the future strength and excellence of the roofing industry. The organization's objectives are to conduct research and educational projects that support high-quality programs for roofing contractors; ensure timely and forward-thinking industry responses to major economic and technological issues; and enhance the long-term viability and attractiveness of the industry to roofing workers.
