ALLIANCE SWEEPSTAKES RAISES FUNDS FOR SCHOLARSHIP
Las VegasDuring the National Roofing Contractors Association's (NRCA's) 122nd
Annual Convention, The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress held its Melvin Kruger
Endowed Scholarship Sweepstakes. The sweepstakes netted more than $16,000 for the
Alliance's Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Fund.
The sweepstakes winner was announced during NRCA's cocktail and awards reception,
which took place Feb. 4. LeAnne Sanders, president of Thermo Manufacturing, Lindale,
Texas, won the sweepstakes' grand prize: a 2009 BMW 128i convertible.
The Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to employees, immediate
family members of employees and immediate family members of NRCA members. Employees
and their families who plan to pursue post-secondary education in college and vocational
programs are eligible for the merit-based scholarships. Scholarship recipients receive
funding for up to four years of full-time study at any accredited post-secondary
institution.
Scholarship details and an application for the 2010-11 academic year will be available
at www.roofingindustryalliance.net in late summer or early fall.
The Alliance was established in 1996 within the National Roofing Foundation, a separate
but related educational and research organization of NRCA, to address critical industry
issues. The organization is open to all roofing contractor and industry partners.
Alliance members are committed to securing the future excellence of the roofing
industry.
For more information about the Alliance, contact Bennett Judson, the Alliance's
executive director, at (800) 323-9545, ext. 7513 or bjudson@roofingindustryalliance.net.
