National Roofing Legal Resource Center Breakfast:
Catastrophic Roofing Failures Contractors Have Experienced

Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010
7 - 9 a.m.
Marriott

There is no lack of legal issues facing roofing contractors, and ignorance of the law is no excuse when it comes to addressing these issues. Join us Sunday morning for the National Roofing Legal Resource Center's (NRLRC's) breakfast to participate in a frank discussion about the major legal issues and roofing failures contractors are experiencing.

During the breakfast, NRLRC's expert panel will educate you about how to limit your liability and protect yourself from a number of legal, technical and relationship problems, including condensation problems related to white single-ply membranes; how to comply with the new energy codes when they conflict with building codes; responsibility for building code compliance for photovoltaic and vegetative roof systems and how liability is and can be shifted; managing risk that is inherent when using fume-emitting products and how to respond to those claims; and complying with the Employee Free Choice Act.

NRLRC is pleased to welcome a panel of distinguished speakers, including Rene Dupuis, president of Structural Research Inc., Middleton, Wis.; Mark S. Graham, NRCA's associate executive director of technical services, Rosemont, Ill.; and Stephen Phillips, a partner with the Atlanta-based law firm Hendrick, Phillips, Salzman & Flatt, Atlanta

Each NRLRC member receives one complimentary breakfast ticket—two for those who have been NRLRC members five consecutive years or more. Members may purchase tickets through NRLRC for $65; non-NRLRC member tickets are $100. Register online at www.TheRoofingExpo.com or contact NRLRC at (847) 299-9092.

Interested in joining NRLRC? For only $395, or as little as $32 per month, you will have access to the most pertinent roofing legal resources available in the industry when you need them most. For breakfast tickets and membership information, contact NRLRC at (847) 299-9092 or e-mail Anne Schroeder, NRLRC's director, at nrlrc@nrlrc.net.
