The 2010 International Roofing Expo begins today at the Morial Convention Center
in New Orleans. Registration booths will be open from 6:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the
convention center. Activities will begin at 7:45 a.m. with Hanley Wood's educational
conferences followed by a Power Panel at 9:45 a.m. that will discuss strategies
and solutions to help roofing professionals recover from a tough economy. The Power
Panel will feature roofing contractors representing various company sizes and specialties
and will address the state of the roofing industry in the current economy; selling
emerging roofing technologies; economic trends; issues facing the roofing industry;
future growth; sales and marketing strategies and more.
Volunteer NRCA members and spouses work on a house during
Rebuilding Together's Community Service Day.
The exhibit hall will open at 11 a.m., and the welcome party will be held from 5:30
to 8 p.m. at Mardi Gras World.
NRCA's president, Robert McNamara, president of F.J.A.
Christensen Roofing Co. Inc., Milwaukee, a Tecta America company, works on
a house during Rebuilding Together's Community Service Day.
Today's activities also include NRCA's International Relations Committee meeting
at 8 a.m.; the ROOFPAC silent auction from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at NRCA's booth, No.
2834; NRCA's Roofing Council luncheon meeting at noon; and the National Roofing
Legal Resource Center board meeting at 2 p.m. Each of these events will be held
at the Morial Convention Center. The Future Executives Institute will be in session
from 1 to 4:45 p.m. and its informational session will start at 5 p.m. at the Marriott.
In addition, NRCA's Former Presidents dinner will be held at Emeril's Restaurant
at 6 p.m.
At the end of the day, NRCA volunteers and the homeowner,
Wilbert Parker (age 77), pose for a photo.
Yesterday afternoon, participants took place in ROOFPAC's sporting clays tournament
at High Point Shooting Grounds.
The sporting clays tournament was held to raise money for ROOFPAC and support pro-business
candidates.
