Safety is a cornerstone of success for any roof system installation. NRCA recognizes
torching activities are, and will continue to be, a major part of the roofing industry.
The CERTA program provides the latest best practices and industry requirements for
torching activities. There is no comparable training program available in the roofing
industry. During the train-the-trainer workshop, you will complete a 10-hour accreditation
program addressing how to teach torch safety. Through classroom instruction and
hands-on torching activities, you learn the latest industry best safety practices
for torch-applied roof systems. You also learn the teaching skills needed to train
others about torch safety.
Program prerequisite: Participants must be proficient in the use of a roofing
torch, be able to speak and read English, and have some experience training others.
Each Train-the-trainer Authorization attendee is required to complete a pre-qualifying
questionnaire and submit it prior to the start of the class.
Please download the
CERTA Train-the-trainer pre-qualifying questionnaire
and fax to Janice Davis, NRCA's manager of risk management and education, at (847)
299-1183.
Note: Class size is limited; prior registration is required.
Tuition fee includes all course materials, continental breakfast, and morning and
afternoon beverage service.
