NRCA's 125th Annual Convention, in conjunction with Hanley Wood's 2012 International
Roofing Expo® (IRE), was held Feb. 20 to 24 in Orlando, Fla. NRCA's educational
programs were held Feb. 21, providing participants with CERTA, rooftop photovoltaic
and fall-protection training. In addition, NRCA's Future Executives Institute (FEI)
and Executive Management Institute (EMI) held classes during the 2012 convention.
Also held Feb. 21 was the National Roofing Legal Resource Center's Annual Breakfast
Program, ROOFPAC's Golf Tournament, receptions hosted by NRCA for EMI graduates
and international attendees and The Roofing Alliance for Progress' reception. ROOFPAC's
silent auction was held Feb. 22 and Feb. 23.
During NRCA's luncheon Feb. 24 elections for the 2012-13 officers were held, naming
Bruce McCrory, Kiker Corp., Mobile, Ala. as the next president. Also held Feb. 24
was NRCA's Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception where the J.A. Piper Award, Charlie
Raymond Awards, Alliance's Most Valuable Player Awards and Gold Circle Awards were
presented. On Feb. 24 Roof Integrated Solar Energy™ administered its Certified Solar
Roofing Professionals™ exam.
The 2012 IRE began Feb. 22 and ran through Feb. 24, offering educational conferences,
an exhibit hall, keynote speaker Kyle Petty and a welcome party at Universal Studios
City Walk.
