During the NRCA Luncheon yesterday, the annual NRCA Member Meeting and Elections took place. Members voted to approve the 2012-13 slate of officers during the meeting.

The following were elected officers for 2012-13:

President: Bruce McCrory, co-owner and secretary and treasurer of Kiker Corp., Mobile, Ala.

Senior vice president: Nelson Braddy, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of King of Texas Roofing Co. LP, Grand Prairie, Texas

Vice president, two years: Jim Barr, president of Barr Roofing Co., Abilene, Texas
John Embow, president of Grove Roofing Services Inc., Buffalo, N.Y.
Robert Willis, vice president of The Wehner Roofing & Tinning Co., Dayton, Ohio
Richard Nugent, CEO of Nations Roof LLC, Bridgeport, Conn.

During NRCA's Awards Ceremony and Cocktail Reception yesterday, a number of annual awards were presented.


The Charlie Raymond Award was presented to Allen Lancaster during
NRCA's Awards Ceremony Feb. 23.


The Charlie Raymond Award was presented to Allen Lancaster, president of Metalcrafts Inc., Savannah, Ga., and GAF Materials Corp., Wayne, N.J. The award is given to the NRCA member and manufacturer that recruit the greatest number of new members during the calendar year.

The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress presented its Most Valuable Player Awards to honor outstanding roofing workers. Following are the 2011-12 winners:

David Baytosh, superintendent for Advanced Roofing Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Luke King, superintendent for D.C. Taylor Co., Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Tom Melton, foreman for Consolidated Enterprises Inc., Anchorage, Alaska
Hector Molina, superintendent for KPost Co., Dallas
Louis Tkacz, superintendent and safety director for Advanced Roofing Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

In addition, Professional Roofing's Best of the Best Award was presented to David Baytosh, superintendent for Advanced Roofing Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

NRCA awarded the 65th Annual J.A. Piper Award, the roofing industry's most prestigious honor, to former NRCA President Bennett Hutchison, president of Tip Top Roofers Inc., Smyrna, Ga.

Finalists and winners of NRCA's annual Gold Circle Awards were announced. The Gold Circle Awards recognize NRCA members from around the world that make significant contributions to the roofing industry in various categories.

Roof Integrated Solar Energy™ will administer its Certified Solar Roofing Professional™ exam today from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Orange County Convention Center.

Today, registration will be available from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the exhibit hall will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hanley Wood's educational conferences will be held from 7:45 to 11:15 a.m.
