Green Roofs Take Root: Are You Prepared?

Interest in green roof systems continues to spread across the U.S., offering significant economic and environmental benefits. Find out what you need to know before installing green roof systems.

Helene Hardy Pierce, vice president of technical services for GAF Materials Corp., Wayne, N.J., will offer an industry discussion about the benefits and design considerations for green roof systems. She will explain the possible risks and concerns related to installing green roof systems—for roofing contractors and building owners—and will recommend solutions to eliminate or reduce potential problems.

About the presenter:

Pierce is widely recognized for her outstanding service to the roofing industry during the past 25 years. She is a Fellow of ASTM International and RCI Inc. and a member of the Women in Science and Engineering Hall of Fame from the School of Engineering at Missouri University of Science & Technology, Rolla, Mo.
