Executive Management Institute (EMI)
NRCA's Executive Management Institute (EMI) will offer seasoned roofing executives
a unique educational experience. Executives who have had primary responsibility
for leading their companies for at least 10 years will have the opportunity to:
- Learn from world-renowned Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management
professors
- Apply learned concepts through a competitive team project
- Receive one-on-one company-specific feedback on assignments
- Network with industry peers
The first EMI, in 2011-12, was extremely well-received. The next class will start in November
2013 and conclude in February 2014. During the course of four months, participants
will be guided through two important topics to new levels of detail and understanding.
The topic areas to be addressed during the 2013-14 EMI are leadership and strategic
planning. The sessions will provide useful coursework to challenge conventional
thinking, allowing students to rethink the way they approach both subjects.
EMI will consist of two face-to-face sessions with time to read and plan in between.
The first session, which is four days in length, will be held in the fall at Kellogg's
downtown Chicago campus, and the second session will be 1½ days during the 2014
International Roofing Expo.®
More than one person from the same company may apply to the program. However, class
size is limited to 25, and a second candidate from the same company only will be
considered if there is space available. Candidates are subject to an interview by
the EMI Admissions Committee.
Applications for the next class will be available in May.
