Centimark makes additional contribution to the Alliance

Centimark Corp., West Chicago, Ill., recently made a $25,000 contribution to The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress. This substantial amount is well above the company's original commitment to the Alliance.

Glenn Jones, executive vice president—national accounts for Centimark, says he values the Alliance.

"I've been an active member of the Alliance for the past five years," he says. "Through this exposure, I've had the privilege of meeting many of our industry's primary drivers. The ability to share knowledge has enlightened me and Centimark. I feel certain we are at a unique point in history with the multitude of challenges we face today. Energy, product design, labor, safety, insurance and general market conditions have long been issues for our industry, but they have not all converged simultaneously with the sense of priority we're currently experiencing.

"We can all use a little help from our friends, and this is exactly what the Alliance provides," he continues. "On behalf of Centimark, we feel privileged to belong and contribute to the welfare of the Alliance."

The Alliance was established in 1996 within the National Roofing Foundation, a separate but related educational and research organization of NRCA, to address critical industry issues.

The Alliance is open to all roofing contractor and industry partners. Members of the organization are committed to securing the future excellence of the roofing industry. Alliance members have committed more than $10 million to fund projects such as a national survey of roofing workers; the NRCA Roof Application Training Program series; a best-practices study of roofing contractors' efforts to successfully recruit, train and retain workers; a video program exploring roofing careers with the goal of recruiting potential workers; and, most recently, an ergonomics study that produced Identification and Management of Musculoskeletal Disorders in the Roofing Industry.
