NRCA University launches energy efficiency online educational program

NRCA University has launched Energy Efficiency in Roof Systems, an interactive online educational program that provides the latest information regarding cool, vegetative and photovoltaic roof systems.

Energy Efficiency in Roof Systems is a self-paced program that provides information regarding how materials and the environment influenced the energy-efficient roofing industry in its infancy; how market conditions, the global economy, and government regulations and incentives have influenced roofing and are stimulating innovation; and energy-efficient design options.

The educational program takes about one hour to complete and involves interactive learning activities. The program will benefit roofing contractors, architects, building owners, roof consultants and other roofing professionals interested in an introduction to energy-efficient roof systems.

Energy Efficiency in Roof Systems is one of seven modules in NRCA University's Roofing, Energy and the Environment Series, an online educational series aimed at helping roofing professionals and end users understand how roof systems can contribute to energy conservation and environmental protection. Four other modules—Vegetative Roof Systems, Cool Roofs, Photovoltaics and Roofing, and Energy Codes and Rating Systems for Roofing—already have launched. Other modules will include EnergyWise Tutorial and Case Studies, and the Roofing, Energy and the Environment Series Certificate Examination.
