NRF announces MVP Award call for entries

The National Roofing Foundation (NRF), a separate but related educational and research organization of NRCA, has announced a call for entries for its Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards Program.

The program is designed to honor one outstanding roofing worker from each of 10 regions (New England, Mid-Atlantic, South Atlantic, East South Central, West South Central, East North Central, West North Central, Mountain, Pacific and noncontinental). The award will recognize excellence in the roofing industry and allow recipients to serve as role models to other workers, as well as increase professionalism and draw more workers into the roofing industry.

Up to three employees per NRCA member branch may be nominated for the MVP Awards. Nominees must hold positions no higher than foreman and can be nominated in the following categories: outstanding on-the-job performance; attracting new roofing workers and helping retain existing workers; contributions to a team effort; community service and volunteerism; and other noteworthy contributions and activities.

Judges will include recognized professionals within the roofing industry from the contracting, manufacturing and supplier communities. Judges’ decisions will be based on evidence of professionalism; uniqueness or significance of a nominee’s contributions; and benefit to a nominee’s company and co-workers, company or community.

Award recipients will receive a one-night, two-day, all-expenses-paid trip to NRCA’s 115th Annual Convention and Exhibit in San Antonio, Feb. 10-13, 2002. Winners will be formally honored and presented with award certificates at the NRCA’s CNA-sponsored Member Breakfast.

Nominations must be postmarked by Dec. 15, 2001. For more information or to obtain entry forms, click here, or contact Chris Seidel, NRF’s executive director, at (847) 299-9070, Ext. 264 or e-mail cseidel@nrca.net.
