OSHA seeks nominations for committee
The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has announced it is accepting nominations for people to serve on the 12-member National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH).
NACOSH was established under section 7(a) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to advise the U.S. Secretary of Labor and U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services regarding matters related to the administration of the act.
There are seven vacancies available. Nominations will be accepted for two labor representatives, two public representatives, one management representative, one occupational safety professional and one occupational health professional. Members will serve a two-year term.
The nomination must identify the category the candidate is qualified to represent and include the candidate's resume. In addition, the nomination must state that the nominee is aware of the nomination and is willing to serve. NACOSH members will be selected based on their experience and competence in the occupational safety and health field.
Nominations must be submitted no later than July 13. To submit nominations by mail, send three copies of your cover letter and resume to: OSHA Docket Office, Room N-2625, U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20210.
Nominations also may be submitted electronically at www.regulations.gov by entering the docket number (OSHA-2009-0012) in the "Search Documents" search engine and clicking "Go"; then, click on "Send a comment or submission" under the heading "National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health; Request for Nominations" to submit your nomination.
