The Alliance announces 2012 MVP Award winners

The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress, a separate but related educational and research organization of NRCA, announced the winners of its 12th annual Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards during NRCA's 125th Annual Convention. Following are the 2012 winners:

David Baytosh, superintendent for Advanced Roofing Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Luke King, superintendent for D.C. Taylor Co., Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Tom Melton, foreman for Consolidated Enterprises Inc., Anchorage, Alaska
Hector Molina, superintendent for KPost Company, Dallas
Louis Tkacz, superintendent and safety director for Advanced Roofing Inc., Fort Lauderdale

Additionally, following are the 2012 MVP Award finalists:

Ward Billings, superintendent for Frye Roofing Inc., Bluefield, W.Va.
Tom Melton, foreman for Consolidated Enterprises Inc., Anchorage, Alaska
David Miller, superintendent for Heritage Roofing Inc., Shady Grove, Pa.
Anthony Myers, foreman for Heritage Roofing Inc., Shady Grove

The Best of the Best Award winner also was announced during NRCA's 125th Annual Convention. David Baytosh, superintendent for Advanced Roofing Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., won the Best of the Best Award. Baytosh was named the best of the best based on his extraordinary contributions to the roofing industry.

The MVP Awards program and the Best of the Best Award special category recognize and honor outstanding roofing workers from various U.S. regions. The Best of the Best Award is sponsored by Professional Roofing and OMG Roofing Products Inc., Agawam, Mass. Winners for both awards are chosen based on their significant contributions to one or more of the following areas: outstanding on-the-job performance; attracting new roofing workers and helping retain existing ones; contributions to a team effort; community service and volunteerism; and other noteworthy contributions and activities. Award winners are chosen by a panel of roofing industry representatives.
