Construction Insurance Solutions (CIS)
NRCA and Construction Insurance Solutions (CIS) announce a new underwriting facility
to offer general liability and umbrella insurance coverages to contractors who have
more than incidental residential construction operations.
The program was developed with the support of NRCA as a response to restrictions
on residential exposures in the standard lines of commercial insurance.
The insurance carrier for the CIS program has an A+++ rating and will offer coverage
nationwide with some restrictions and limits. The program for general liability
and umbrella coverage can include per project limits, blanket additional insured,
and primary and noncontributory coverages.
CIS will consider construction accounts for 11 construction classes of business,
including roofing. Accounts will be reviewed individually for pricing and risk acceptability.
NRCA will work closely with CIS and believes this program will provide a valuable
insurance option for contractors who are being excluded from traditional markets.
