NRCA's UL certification for compliance with ANSI/SPRI ES-1

NRCA's UL certification for compliance with ANSI/SPRI ES-1 links

NRCA maintains a certification with Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) for compliance of specific edge metal flashings with ANSI/SPRI ES-1. NRCA's UL certification applies to specific edge metal flashings included in The NRCA Roofing Manual fabricated by specific NRCA members, referred to as "authorized fabricators," who subscribe and adhere to NRCA's and UL's process for certification. Edge metal flashings to which NRCA's UL certification applies bear a UL classification mark label, typically applied to the unexposed backside of the flashing system.

NRCA's UL certification for compliance with ANSI/SPRI ES-1 provides for third-party verification of compliance by a code-approved test agency. Although such third-party verification is not a specific requirement of the International Building Code and may not be required by project specification requirements, it does provide credible, independent means of showing specific shop-fabricated edge metal flashings comply with ANSI/SPRI ES-1.
