Joan P. Crowe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies and a Master of Architecture degree (Structures Option) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She is a licensed architect in Illinois. In 1988, she began her career in the architectural/engineering profession when she joined Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc., a nationally recognized architectural and engineering consulting firm in Northbrook, Ill.

Crowe joined the NRCA staff in 2000. Her responsibilities within the Technical Services Section include responding to requests for information and technical assistance, maintaining/developing technical documents and participating in various NRCA technical committees. Crowe is a member of the American Institute of Architects.
