During a train-the-trainer workshop, you will complete a 10-hour accreditation program about how to teach torch safety. Through classroom instruction and hands-on torching activities, you learn the latest industry best safety practices for torch-applied roof systems. You also learn the teaching skills needed to train others about torch safety. After successfully completing this program, you will be authorized to conduct CERTA certification training for roofing workers. Authorized trainers receive training materials, including an instructors guide and English and Spanish editions of the CERTA student manual and training video.
This course will benefit roofing professionals at all levels who need to implement and expand their torch safety programs.
Note: Class size is limited; prior registration is required.

Amy Staska is NRCA's associate executive director of education. She works closely with NRCA's University Operations
Committee to ensure its classes and courses meet professional developmental standards and exceed members' needs.
Bill Steinmetz is NRCA's risk management consultant. Steinmetz has been involved in the roofing industry since 1979 and
started volunteering for NRCA in 1983. He regularly attends meetings for NRCA's risk management committees, such as its
Health and Safety Committee and Safety Manual Committee.

Participants must be proficient in the use of a roofing torch, be able to speak and read English, and have some
experience training others.
Each Train-the-trainer Authorization attendee is required to complete a pre-qualifying questionnaire and submit it

NRCA understands circumstances may arise that require you to cancel your registration. If you cancel up to 10 business
days before an event, your registration fee will be refunded. If your cancellation is received 10 business days or less
before an event, you may send another person in your place or receive a credit voucher that can be applied toward any
NRCA University program during the next 12 months. Registrants who do not cancel before the seminar or do not attend
are liable for the entire registration fee. All cancellations must be in writing. NRCA reserves the right to cancel any
programs. If such a cancellation is necessary, registrants will be notified and an attempt will be made to reschedule
or make alternative arrangements. Registrants will receive a full tuition refund for the program. NRCA is not
responsible for other costs incurred. The registration fee is due and payable before the start of a seminar.
