Independent Contractor or Employee? The Latest Rulings Affecting Your Business (Webinar recording)

The misclassification of employees as independent contractors presents one of the most serious problems facing affected workers, employers and the economy. The Department of Labor (DOL), Internal Revenue Service and many state governments have announced their desire to stop the inappropriate misclassification of employees as independent contractors.

During this 75-minute webinar recording, National Roofing Legal Resource Center legal counsel Philip Siegel will discuss the most recent developments from DOL, including proposed changes to overtime regulations and the latest interpretative memo concerning employees being misclassified as independent contractors. Siegel also will help you gain a better understanding of the consequences for misclassifying employees as independent contractors, as well as how the risks of existing independent contractor relationships can be minimized.

This webinar recording took place on Nov. 19, 2015.
