NRCA Poll
Does your company advertise in the Yellow Pages?
No
35.48 %
Yes
64.52 %
During the past few years, Yellow Page references have slipped nearly 25 percent, in large part because of online references and as more means of conveying information become available. On average, five new business directories are added in the U.S. each month. This may be a good time to review your company's Yellow Page advertisement and revise it to follow some key elements.
Yellow Page advertisements should focus on four elements: layout, headline, body copy and call to action. First, the layout space should be used wisely so the text isn't too crowded. Second, an advertisement's headline is important and accounts for 80 percent of its effectiveness. Third, main points listed in the text should emphasize what a customer will gain. Finally, an effective advertisement must inform readers what to do and whom to contact to meet their needs or solve their problems.
For more information about creating or revising Yellow Page advertisements and the elements to include that will help you produce an effective ad, read Professional Roofing's March Workplace column, "Elements of Yellow Page advertisements."
