During 2016-17, NRCA made various charitable contributions.
NRCA and Rebuilding Together® held Community Service Day Feb. 28 to give back to the Las Vegas community.
Volunteers renovate homes of families that include elderly individuals, disabled individuals or individuals who are
financially unable to support the renovation.
NRCA and Rebuilding Together and its more than 200 local and state affiliates also provide roof system repairs for
service members, veterans and military families through two partnership programs—Heroes at Home and Serving Those
Who Serve. Both programs focus on making necessary repairs, improvements or modifications to veterans' and soldiers'
Established through The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress, the intent of the Disaster Relief Fund is to provide
new roofs in regions affected by natural disasters. In addition to labor, monetary and material donations, noncash
gifts—such as donations of worker housing, meals, transportation and warehousing—also are accepted.
Contributions are tax-deductible, and donors receive receipts for their gifts.
NRCA's Pay It Forward program encourages roofing professionals to give back to their communities. The program helps
match those in need with those who can help. If roofing professionals are willing to help someone in their communities
when the need arises, they can provide NRCA with their contact information so they can be included on the Pay It
Forward list. Once companies are on the list, they are not obligated to provide labor or materials but will receive
project information when NRCA learns of someone in need in their areas. In return for helping someone, they can ask
that person to help someone else in need.
Another NRCA charity partner is Samaritan's Purse, a nonprofit, nondenominational, evangelical organization based in
Boone, N.C., that responds during times of war and famine and to all types of natural disasters, including tornadoes,
fires, hurricanes and floods.
In addition, NRCA offers detailed information on its consumer website, www.everybodyneedsaroof.com, that consumers can
use for post-disaster recovery.
