Attend the Roofing Alliance’s student competition virtual awards ceremony

The Roofing Alliance, celebrating 25 years as the foundation of NRCA, invites the roofing industry to the April 16 virtual awards ceremony for the seventh annual Roofing Alliance Construction Management Student Competition. The teams’ oral presentations will be available beginning April 12 on the Roofing Alliance YouTube channel.

The four finalist teams are Clemson University, Clemson, S.C.; Colorado State University, Fort Collins; Texas A&M University, College Station; and University of Florida, Gainesville.

This year, the teams were tasked with submitting a qualified bid package for a new roof system on the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice facility, part of the new Intermountain Healthcare Performance Center in Henderson, Nev. Each team was required to research the project, review the plans and specifications, and assemble a full estimate and proposal to submit a qualified bid package.

The virtual awards ceremony will be April 16 at 3 p.m. EDT; following are instructions for joining the Zoom event:

The first-place team will receive a team trophy, a $5,000 L.B. Conway scholarship for its school and individual awards. The second-place team will receive a team trophy, a $2,500 Fred Good scholarship for its school and individual awards. The first-place Best Individual Student Presenter will be selected from the finalist teams and will receive a $300 gift card, and the second-place Best Individual Student Presenter will receive a $200 gift card.

All winners will receive recognition in Professional Roofing magazine, among other promotions.
