Earlier this year the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported job openings in construction fields increased to the highest level ever recorded since the data was first collected nearly 20 years ago. NRCA members recently reported chronic workforce shortages are the roofing industry’s greatest challenge and production could increase 10-20% if these positions were filled.
NRCA and the Association for Career and Technical Education have joined forces to urge Congress to help combat the industry’s workforce challenge by increasing funding to Perkins and high-quality career and technical education programs and have drafted an op-ed to promote the effort.
