The 2015 International Roofing Expo® (IRE) begins today at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
Registration booths will be open from 6:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the convention center in Lobby B1. Activities will begin
at 7:45 a.m. with IRE's educational conferences followed by the IRE keynote with Ken Schmidt at 9:45 a.m. The exhibit
hall will open at 11 a.m., and the welcome party will be held from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. at Generations Hall.
Today's activities also include the second part of NRCA University's OSHA 10-hour Program at 7 a.m.; NRCA's
International Relations Committee meeting at 8 a.m.; ROOFPAC's silent auction from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at ROOFPAC's
booth, No. 2145; NRCA's National Roofing Council meeting at 1 p.m.; the National Roofing Legal Resource Center (NRLRC)
board meeting at 1:30 p.m.; and The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress' Construction Management Student Competition
at 2:30 p.m. All these events will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
The NRCA member lounge will be open today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
NRLRC's luncheon program will take place at 11 a.m. The program offers a great opportunity to network with fellow
roofing contractors and features a candid, eye-opening discussion from two panels of speakers who will share their
stories about various roofing-specific legal and technical issues. The program will be held at the Ernest N. Morial
Convention Center and includes lunch. The Future Executives Institute (FEI) 6 and 7 classes will be in session from
7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the New Orleans Marriott, and NRCA will host an FEI information session and alumni reception
at 5 p.m., also at the New Orleans Marriott. In addition, NRCA's Former Presidents Dinner will be held at Galatoire's
Restaurant from 6 to 9 p.m.
Yesterday afternoon, participants played in ROOFPAC's golf tournament at TPC Louisiana Golf Course.
The winning team was Donnie Chatelain, Ryan Clark, Derrick Crews and Jim Wallis. Second place was Mike Bryan, Loren Leblanc, Mark Lenzer and Charlie Seoane.
Third place went to Derrick Carroll, Chris Johnsen and Brad Jones. Also, Patrick Fick won longest drive and Steve Little and Kay Chapman won closest to the pin.
The golf tournament was held to raise money for ROOFPAC and support pro-business candidates.
