The 2017 International Roofing Expo® (IRE) begins today at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.
Registration booths will be open from 6:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the convention center. Activities will begin at 7:45 a.m.
with IRE's educational conferences followed by the IRE keynote with Retired Lt. Col. Rob "Waldo" Waldman at 9:45 a.m.
The exhibit hall will open at 11 a.m., and the welcome party will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Light Nightclub
at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
Today's activities also include ROOFPAC's silent auction from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at NRCA's booth, No. 1741; NRCA's
National Roofing Council meeting at 1 p.m.; and the National Roofing Legal Resource Center (NRLRC) board meeting at
1:30 p.m. All these events will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
The NRCA member lounge will be open today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at NRCA's booth, No. 1741, at the Mandalay Bay
NRLRC's luncheon program will take place at 11 a.m. The program offers a great opportunity to network with your peers,
and hear from some of the industry's top legal and technical experts about how to limit your liability and protect
yourself from a number of legal, technical and relationship problems. The program will be held at the Mandalay Bay
Convention Center and includes lunch. The Future Executives Institute (FEI) 7 and 8 classes will be in session from
7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, including breakfast starting at 7 a.m. An FEI-8 roundtable
session will take place from 10:15 a.m. to noon at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, followed by an FEI-8 luncheon at
noon. NRCA will facilitate an Emerging Roofing Professionals Meet-Up networking opportunity at the Mandalay Bay
Convention Center from 2 to 3 p.m., as well as an FEI/EMI alumni reception at 5 p.m., also at the Mandalay Bay
Convention Center and by invitation only. In addition, NRCA will host an international reception, by invitation only,
from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Seascape Ballroom at Shark Reef Aquarium in the Mandalay Bay Convention Center and NRCA's
Former Presidents/Chairmen of the Board Dinner will be held at Rao's at Caesar's Palace from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Yesterday afternoon, participants played in ROOFPAC's golf tournament at Bali Hai Golf Club. The winning team was Andy Clarke, Andy Coventry, Greg Marrs and Pete Schmatz. Second
place was Scott Baxter, Brandon Lozano, Daryl Maronic and Andy White. Third place went to Chad Collins, Scott Kawulok and Nick Sabino. Closest to the pin was Andy White and longest drive went to Kevin Shinar. Participants also played in ROOFPAC's sporting clays tournament at Pro Gun
Club. The winning team was The Original Roofing Company team from Las Vegas: Guy Bennallack, Tommy Stack, Courtney Whipple and Jimmy Paolinetti.
The tournaments were held to raise money for ROOFPAC and support pro-business candidates.
