A roof system installer must pass a two-part exam to earn his or her NRCA ProCertification. Part one is a proctored, roof system-specific online exam; part two is a hands-on performance exam. Testing sites for both exams are located throughout the U.S. and world.
NRCA ProCertification online and hands-on exams are structured as follows.
Online exams must be proctored and taken at Prometric, a computer testing facility.
Prometric offers thousands of testing sites with plenty of space to test multiple candidates.
Prometric testing facilities are searchable by ZIP code.
Hands-on performance exam:
Hands-on performance exams for NRCA ProCertification may be taken at any physical location as long as the location meets NRCA's standard testing conditions.
Potential locations include a roofing contractor's shop, local manufacturer's training center, local distribution center, local union training facility, vocational school, community college or other type of facility.
All hands-on performance testing activities are scheduled by NRCA ProCertification Qualified Assessors, and only Qualified Assessors can schedule and proctor hands-on performance tests.
