The Polyisocyanurate Insulation Manufacturers Association is inviting roofing industry stakeholders to comment on version 2.0 of the product category rule Part B for Roof Cover Boards.
The Sustainable Minds Transparency Report [EPD]™ Framework is a two-part product category rule program that provides for continual improvements. The product category rules created in the program stay up to date with market and industry standards and practices.
Updates to the product category rule include:
- Conformance to the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment PCR Open Standard v1.0
- Exclusion of products primarily specified for use as insulation
- Change of system boundary to cradle-to-grave scope
- Supply-chain-specificity score calculation accompanying EPD type label
- Exclusion of the consideration of market-based renewable electricity purchases
- Addition of warehouse/distribution center and retail scenarios to A4
- Installation updates, including change in installation waste scrap rate and addition of installation energy
- Additions to industry-average EPD creation requirements
