NRCA CEO Reid Ribble testified before the House Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress today during its hearing, "Speaking from Experience: Former Members on Congressional Reform."
Ribble was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010 and served Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District for six years. The committee heard from a bipartisan panel of six former members of Congress who shared their congressional experiences and offered potential areas for reform.
Ribble; former Reps. Tom Davis (R-Va.), Vic Fazio (D-Calif.), Martin Frost (D-Texas) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.); and former ambassador Tim Roemer (D-Ind.) spoke regarding a broad range of issues, including staff recruitment, transparency, technology, building civility and trust, and improving the quality of life for those working in the legislative branch.
